Gatan 3View SEM Pin Stubs These beveled pin stubs are used to mount the sample for the automated serial-sectioning of a block face inside the Gatan 3View system. The top beveled surface where the sample is mounted comes in two sizes 1.4mm (#16950-1) and 2.4mm (#16950-5). The stem on the pin is 2mm in diameter and the overall pin length is 12.5mm. The stubs are sold in packs of 10 and 50.

ERL 4221 has replaced ERL 4206. ERL 4221 has a higher viscosity than the previously used ERL 4206.

The Spurr Kit gives excellent penetration for tough materials particularly in the studies of botanical, mineral and other hard biological specimens. When the mixture is kept at room temperature for 24 hours its viscosity will increase to 140cP, as is the case with other resins. When fully formulated, the Spurr’s resin will store in a deep-freeze for two months and at room temperature for two days. Curing is done at 70ºC for about 8 hours (see our Microwave system for significant time saving during epoxy processing).

PELCO^® Conductive Liquid Silver Paint

a reliable conductive ground path for SEM specimens
Air drying silver paint to make effective ground. Curable at room temperature and has high adhesion to any material. Surfaces do not have to be prepared prior to application and will adhere to such materials as polymer (phenolic) boards, ceramic, glass, metal, plastic and fiberglass. It should be mixed well with a spatula before using. RoHS compliant.

The container is offered in two sizes (15g and 30g) and is provided with an applicator brush. Silver flake grain size is an average of 80%, <1.0µm. Sheet resistance is 0.02 ohms per square @ 1 mil (0.001” = 0.025mm) thickness and is a function of the coating. Service temperature range is -40°C to 200°C.
Use #16021 gold/silver thinner/extender to dilute when needed.

Versatile, cost effective SEM pin mount storage box and holder for pin mounts with a ø3.2mm (1/8") pin. Numbered 1-18 with the spacing designed to accommodate all types of pin mounts with a diameter from 6.4 to 50mm. The durable and versatile PELCO^® SBEM Pin Stub Vacuum Desiccator holds up to 12 standard ø12.7mm (1/2") pin stubs, or two ø25mm (1") or 1 up to ø50mm (2") SEM pin stubs. Storage under vacuum eliminates contamination or dust. Allows for a 10mm (3/8") specimen height on the pin stubs. The use of durable, non-outgassing, blue anodized aluminum and Silicon O-rings makes it suitable for pumping down to 10^-3 mbar. Capable of holding vacuum for many weeks. Metal vacuum valve with PTFE shaft seal. Use a small vacuum pump to evacuate. Vacuum connection for pump-down is a 1/4" (6.35mm) barb fitting.
