The Slimline Slide Drying Hotplate is designed to efficiently dry paraffin tissue sections through the use of accurate variable digital temperature control. An ultra-fast heating system ensures a rapid warm-up time prior to use. Microscope slides are supported on four moveable rails which allow heated air to pass underneath the slides accelerating drying times. The rails can be removed from the instrument so slides can be placed directly onto the heated surface when required. Slides can be positioned sloped at a 10° angle to encourage water drain-off.
The body of the Slimline Hotplate is coated with an anti-microbial paint finish whch inhibits bacterial and viral growth. The actual hotplate is coated with a maitte black powder to provide visual contrast against paraffin tissue sections.
Key Features:
The optional stainless steel Slimline Slide Drying Hotplate Lid (#28070-1) is available and can be used with slides in position on the hotplate. Use of the lid improves temperature control, further reduces drying times and improves overall heating efficiency.
The Large Slide Drying Hotplate is wider than the Slimline version featured above. Designed for use in high workload laboratories with a large capacity work surface for paraffin tissue section drying, the Large Hotplate incorporates six removable rails.
The body of the Large Slide Drying Hotplate is coated with an anti-microbial paint finish which inhibits bacterial and viral growth. The actual hotplate is coated with a matte black powder to provide visual contrast against paraffin tissue sections.
The optional stainless steel Large Slide Drying Hotplate Lid (#28075-1) is available and can be used with slides in position on the hotplate. Use of the lid improves temperature control, further reduces drying times and improves overall heating efficiency.
The Mini Hotplate has a very small footprint, making it ideal for use at the microtome. It is predominantly used to remove stubborn wrinkles from tissue sections and re-orienting embedded tissue. It may also be used in microbiology for heat fixing bacterial smears. The hotplate features a matte black heated surface to provide a visual contrast for paraffin tissue sections, and reaches temperatures of up to 75° C. The body of the Mini Hotplate is coated with an anti-microbial paint finish that inhibits bacterial and viral growth.
The Mini Section/Slide Dryer has a small footprint designed to be used at the microtome for improved LEAN workflow. Air at a digitally controlled temperature is blown through the base of the instrument for rapid and efficient section drying without the risk of overheating the specimen. With this system, drying times can be reduced by approximately 75% compared to conventional ovens.
A large chamber has space for up to 6 slide racks (one slide rack holds 30 slides), which can be inspected at any time through a transparent lid. Innovative resistance hinges on the lid allows users to easily position it at any angle. This allows both hands to be used when placing and removing items from the dryer. With the optional 4 Slide Rack Holder in place, the capacity is 4 slide racks of 30 slide capacity each.
The optional LEAN Timer system and identifier rack ensures that each slide rack has an exact optimal drying time and provides both an audible and visual indication to users when a slide rack has fully completed drying. The LEAN Timer can monitor up to four slide racks.
Exterior Dimensions: 265mm W x 385mm D x 228mm H (10.43 x 15.16 x 8.98")
Interior Chamber Dimensions: 220mm W x 191mm D x 140mm H (8.67 x 7.52 x 5.51")
The High Capacity Section/Slide Dryer is like the Mini Section/Slide Dryer but larger in size to accommodate twice the volume of slides. Designed to give maximum drying capacity for high workload laboratories, the High Capacity Section Dryer has space for up to 13 slide racks (one slide rack holds 30 slides). When two 4 Slide Rack Holders are used, capacity is 8 slide racks of 30 slide capacity each.
Exterior Dimensions: 469mm W x 320mm D x 346mm H (18.46 x 12.6 x 13.63")
Interior Chamber Dimensions: 437mm W x 240-270mm D x 198mm H (17.20 x 9.45-10.63 x 7.80")
The Slide Drying Workstation (#28101-1) can be used as a stand-alone item or mates and fits snuggly to various tissue section baths.
The Slide Dryer Workstation is comprised of two areas: a sloped slide drying area which has capacity for 12 slides with temperature control accurate to ±1°C, and a mini hotplate (used to remove stubborn wrinkles from tissue sections) which is set to 65°C ±3°C.
