These dual-purpose probes contain two different markers, 1.4nm gold and a fluorescent dye, which allow for imaging the same sample using the light microscope (LM) and the electron microscope (EM). This has the advantage of being used for correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) as well allowing the user to check their labeling by fluorescence microscopy before processing in the EM. These probes can be used like conventional fluorescent conjugates and the sample can be labeled for both LM and EM in one step.    |
