Associate Warehouse Clerk or Warehouse Clerk – Order Pulling


Ted Pella, Inc. is seeking candidates for our Associate Warehouse Clerk/Warehouse Clerk – Order Pulling position to join our Warehouse team. This position will be trained initially on Order Pulling, but may also be assigned various duties throughout the Warehouse as needed to ensure the best service and support to both internal and external customers. This position reports to the Warehouse Leads, and the Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Order Pulling

  • Retrieve picking tickets from Customer Service Department several times daily as they become available.
  • Pull all stock listed on the picking tickets to fill the purchase order. Stock may be located in the Warehouse, Grid Room, or Cool Room, or at other facility.
  • After pulling all of the stock listed on the picking tickets, return to work bench with stock, and double check stock against picking ticket.
  • Pre-pack some items for appearance and safety sake.
  • Select the proper packing materials for preparing stock - bags, tubes, boxes, etc.
  • Print any SDS or Technical Notes needed for products being shipped.
  • Document paperwork properly.
  • Provide ready product order to shipping for shipment.

  • General duties

  • Perform back up duties whenever needed in pre-pack, stocking, and receiving.
  • Ensure neat and organized warehouse at all times.
  • Work with customer services, sales, and other staff to resolve issues that arise.
  • Assist with any special projects or duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of work experience is required, preferably in a warehouse or production environment for the Associate Warehouse Clerk level. More than 1 year of full time warehouse or production Order Pulling work experience is required for the Warehouse Clerk level.
  • Must be proficient on computers and able to type. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP system is a plus.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail, especially with number sequences.
  • Must be able to learn tasks quickly, and keep up in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Must write legibly.
  • Must have good math skills, and ability to problem solve and make good judgement calls.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Must be neat and clean in work habits.
  • Must be able to handle small items with dexterity and count accurately.
  • Must be able to use precision scale.
  • Must be able to conform to company policies and procedures.
  • Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic.

Physical Job Requirements:

Must have excellent eye sight to recognize lengthy part numbers. Must be capable of being on your feet up to 8 hours per day and able to move around facility easily with occasional use of stairs and step stools. Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally by yourself with a maximum of 50 pounds in a team assisted lift; have the ability to reach overhead and bend or stoop easily to the ground.

Working Conditions:

be adaptable to inclement weather in heat and cold as there is no central AC/heat. Will also visit the office environment occasionally.

Hours:

Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Pay & Benefits:

Starting pay rate is $16.09 - $22.61 per hour to start, or commensurate with experience. This is a temporary position, which may last up to 90 days, with the possibility of conversion to regular full time at the end of that time. If the position transitions to regular, full time, it will include generous employer sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life/AD&D insurance plans. A 401(k) plan with Company match is available after 1 year. Time off includes paid vacation, sick leave after a brief waiting period, and 10 paid holidays.
