Associate Export Representative or Export Representative


Ted Pella, Inc. is seeking an Associate Export Representative / Export Representative, depending on qualifications, to join our dynamic International department. This person will support the international team and assist international customers by processing orders, providing pricing, availability, delivery and shipping options and current status updates.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process international customer orders via the web, email, fax, and by telephone. Accuracy is key. This process includes converting Proforma invoices and web orders to confirmed orders, preparing confirmed orders for shipment, working with all necessary departments to ensure accuracy, communicating with customer the estimated delivery date, best shipping mode, and freight costs, and notifying customers of any special information and contact info for clarification.
  • Interact with international customers on a regular basis by email and occasionally by phone, to ensure quality customer service and satisfaction.
  • Work with various departments within the company and provide administrative support to the international team as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete additional duties, tasks and cross-training within the department as assigned.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Requires minimum of 2 years related customer service experience for entry level, minimum 4 years to be considered at next level.
  • Export experience is a plus. Experience with international customers is a plus.
  • College degree or course work in business, sales, communications, or related field is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of world geography is preferred.
  • Ability to appreciate cultural differences and relate well with international customers. Knowledge of foreign language is a plus.
  • Requires excellent communication skills. Ability to interface successfully with customers, vendors, co-workers and management. Must be able to collaborate and interact successfully and have the ability to work well with all people.
  • Requires excellent organization skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, excellent problem solving skills and good judgment.
  • Must have good math and grammatical skills.
  • Excellent computer knowledge, including Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet browsers. Must type at least 45 wpm.
  • Experience with business software programs a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as work well on a team. Must be results-oriented with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Must have strong attendance record and work ethic, while maintaining a positive attitude at all times

Hours:

Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., may vary based on business needs.

Pay & Benefits:

Hourly rate will be competitive in market and commensurate with customer service experience, education and export experience. The hourly pay range is $16.09 - $23.17 per hour. Benefits include generous employer sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life/AD&D insurance plans. A 401(k) plan with Company match is available after 1 year. Time off includes paid vacation, sick leave after a brief waiting period, and 10 paid holidays.
