Lab Animal Micro Tattoo System
The micro tattoo system is a great alternative to ear punches and ear tags for permanently identifying laboratory animals. It utilizes a hypodermic needle to deposit tattoo ink in the skin and can be used to mark mice and rats as young as 1 day old. Markings take only a few seconds to apply and remain indefinitely. The needle is easy to install and replace, so a new sterile needle can be used for each animal. Ideal for mice, rats, guinea pigs, and other small animals.
Millions of numbers can be assigned by making permanent markings on the toes, the toe pads, the tail or the ears of mice and other lab animals. The micro tattoo system can be used to mark ears in a similar way they would be “marked” with an ear punch or ear tag, but without impeding the ear’s blood flow or being prone to snags or tears.
