Vibratome® Fresh Tissue Sectioning Systems
| The Vibratome sectioning systems are especially designed for sectioning fresh or fixed tissues. The systems employ a vibrating blade principle which allows sectioning without freezing or embedding. Biological viability is preserved with the Vibratome sectioning method. This excellent feature has been known for many years and is well documented (Vibratome references). The creation of artifacts, the change of morphology, the destruction of enzyme activities, and other negative effects inherent in freezing or embedding procedures are thus avoided. The current Vibratome series offer an impressive package of features allowing automatic movement selection, by-pass, faster return speed, pause setting, section window selection, improved cooling and temperature control, selectable knife holders and other accessories. The unique Zero-Z technology for the 3000 model dramatically reduces z-axes vibrations to improve the thin section quality. | All Vibratomes come with a unique preventative maintenance package. Since all vibratory microtomes are mechanical assemblies, they will change over time as mechanical parts wear and age. Therefore, when you wish to control the z-axis deflections within microns, it must be checked and tuned as the instrument as the instrument is used. When you purchase a Vibratome microtome, you get a preventative maintenance contract at no charge that allows you to send the instrument back to the manufacturer once a year for tuning and clean up. Within mainland USA, shipping costs are included in the preventative maintenance. The Gold Package even includes a 3 Year Warranty contract.
