ALKAR Glass Stripsthe original glass for
knifemakers Only ALKAR glass strips are made from Pittsburgh glass. Most other strips are manufactured from glass made by the float process. These two types of glass are really very different.

| Glass Knives As specimens vary in hardness and embeddings change with temperature, humidity or age, their cutting properties are also influenced. The angle of the knife is probably the most important cutting parameter in overcoming sectioning problems associated with these changes.
Glass knives can be custom-made to any angle to suit any specimen or embedment. The best angle can be found quickly and economically. The diamond knife with its fixed angle is unable to compete with the versatility of glass, regarding angles. Sharpness Economy |
