Freshly broken glass knives (6-7mm or 8mm thickness) can be stored dust-free in this container having a silicone rubber mat with conveniently shaped recesses for the knives. Recesses are numbered. Holds 16 knives.

Simply dip the trough into the hot wax on the front deck and just the right amount will be applied. A time saving, inexpensive solution to one of the inconveniences of using glass knives. Slots for heating up to five glass knives (6.4mm) are provided. An area for drying or staining four slides makes this device versatile. Plastic disposable Boats which fit glass knives 6.4mm* thick and larger. GKB troughs provide a larger interior than tape boats and no sticky walls for sections to adhere to. GKB slips on the back of the glass knife and seals with wax or nail polish. Not only clean but time saving.

*Special Note: Product number 8700, ALKAR Glass Strips (6.4mm thick), will be discontinued when existing stock is gone. Product number 8720, ALKAR Glass Strips, 8 x 25 x 400mm, is now available as a close alternative.
Product number 123-3 PELCO® Glass Knife Boats will still fit on the 8720 Glass Knives but note that 2mm on the right side of the glass knife will not be covered. This area is normally not used and considered the dull area of the knife. The Glass Knife Boat will cover only 6.4mm from left corner, that is equal to 80% of the knife edge to the right.
